Senior Accountant
An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Team at Cubico Sustainable Investments as a Senior Accountant, for Cubico Iberia. Reporting to the Senior Accounting, Tax & Consolidation Manager, this role is responsible for supervising all the accounting operations, closing processes, as well as taxation and reporting for the renewable energy portfolio assigned.

This position requires managing accounting functions for period close tasks, account reconciliations, preparation and review of journal entries and monthly reporting tasks including analytical reviews comparing actuals to budget deviations. Finance related tasks include tax compliance and audit lead. The Senior Accountant will be expected to manage an accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team for the assigned portfolio, including month end and year end process, posting closing journal entries, analysing complex transactions, among other accounting tasks.
- Preparing monthly reporting for the management team, which includes the analysis of variances comparing actuals versus budget across the assigned portfolio.
- Monitoring and analysing accounting data, producing both statutory and internal financial reports, including the preparation of Annual Accounts.
- Lead role with the external and internal audits. Accountable, with the support of the team, for the timely delivery of all auditor requests.
- Manage and comply with tax filings and tax authorities’ requests.
- Provide ad hoc management information and business support information as required.
- Undertake projects to continuously drive improvements.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure accounting & tax compliance.
- Assure compliance of appropriate internal controls according to Cubico’s policies.
- Provide guidance and direction to other team members, particularly junior staff.

Education Requirements
- Advanced degree in accounting
Preferred Qualifications
- Navision/Business Central
- Renewable-energy industry experience
- Consolidation knowledge
- Fluent English
Other Skills and Competencies
- Prior experience with Navision/Business Central will be an advantage.
- Experience working with multiple key business stakeholders and delivery of accurate, timely deliverables.
- Previous exposure to renewable energy is an advantage but not a requirement. Candidates from real estate, oil and gas, other investment funds or similar backgrounds will be considered to have most applicable experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fluid environment and able to take a pro-active approach.
- A proven ability to organize multiple priorities, work well under pressure to meet various deadlines, and to quickly identify the mission critical items.
- A proven ability to build collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
- Good communication and presentation skills. An open communication style best fits the Company’s culture and values.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proven experience combining accounting, audit (either internal audit or in audit firm), and/or finance experience
